Driver Verification Before You Hire a Personal Driver
A driver gets your car keys, your children's school route and your parents' hospital visits. This check shows court cases across India, news mentions and public profiles for him from just a name, father's name and city, while you check the licence and references yourself.

Why families check a driver beyond the licence
- A licence shows that someone may drive, not whether he is named in court cases. This report searches public court records across India, pending and disposed.
- Published news stories that name the driver appear in the same report as the court results.
- You need no licence number, document or OTP from him, and he is never contacted or told.
- The report is ready in about 5 minutes, so it fits between the test drive and the offer while police verification is still pending.
- At ₹99, it is saved in My Reports, so both parents, or a business partner, can read the same report.
- Hiring a personal driver for daily school runs
- A driver for an elderly parent's hospital and bank visits
- A driver recommended by a cousin, a neighbour or another driver
- A small business hiring a driver for a company car or delivery vehicle
- Replacing a driver who left suddenly with someone who can start on Monday
- A driver who will also handle fuel money or run errands

Check the driving licence yourself on Parivahan
Enter the licence number and date of birth in the driving licence status service on parivahan.gov.in. Match the name, validity and vehicle classes, including LMV for a family car, with the card in your hand. Our report does not verify licences, so do not skip this step.
- 2
Call two previous employers
Ask how long he worked there, why he left, whether there were accidents or traffic challans, and whether fuel and cash accounts were clean. End with: would you hire him again? Hesitation there often says more than the praise before it.
- 3
Collect ID and address copies
Ask for copies of his photo ID such as Aadhaar, proof of current and native address, two photographs and a family contact number, and call that number once. Scan the Aadhaar's secure QR code with UIDAI's Aadhaar QR scanner app, and keep copies, never originals.
- 4
Take a real test drive
Sit in the back seat on the route and at the hour he will actually drive, including peak traffic and a narrow lane. Watch mirror use, speed near schools, tight parking and whether he touches his phone.
- 5
Apply for police verification
Many city police departments let employers submit details of domestic staff; Delhi Police, for example, does this through its citizen services portal. Ask your city police or local station whether a personal driver is covered and which form to use.
- 6
Run a fraudcheck.ai background check
While police verification is pending, check court records across India, news mentions and public profiles using his name, father's name and city. If a case appears, confirm it is the same person and ask him about it calmly.
- 7
Agree terms and set daily safety rules
Put salary, hours, weekly off, fuel rules, no phone while driving and notice period in a signed letter. Turn on live location sharing for school runs, keep the spare key yourself, and ask your insurer whether your policy covers liability to a paid driver.
- Driving licence number and date of birth, to check licence status yourself on Parivahan

- Two recent photographs, for your file and the police form
- Numbers of at least two previous employers, to call yourself
- A family contact at his native place, called once to confirm it works
- A relieving letter or supervisor's number if he drove for a company or transport operator
- The Parivahan record shows a different name, an expired licence or no record at all
- Vehicle classes on the licence that do not include LMV when he will drive your car
- References who sound like friends reading a script, or cannot say how long he worked for them
- Reluctance to take a long test drive or to drive at peak hour
- Using the phone at the wheel during the trial
- Pressure to skip police verification because he has to start tomorrow
- Fuel bills that do not match the distance driven, or receipts that keep going missing
