Privacy Policy

fraudcheck.ai decides how your personal data is used (the “Data Fiduciary” under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023). Contact us at info@fraudcheck.ai or our Grievance Officer at info@fraudcheck.ai.

• Your account: your mobile number (for OTP sign-in), or your name, email and profile photo from Google if you sign in with Google.
• Your orders: what you bought, the amount, and the Razorpay payment ID and status. Razorpay handles your card, UPI or bank details; we never see or store them.
• Details you enter for a check: the person's name, father's or husband's name and city; or a driving licence number and date of birth; or a vehicle registration number.
• The report: the public records our searches return.
• How you use the site: pages visited, device and browser, approximate location from your IP address, and the advert or link that brought you here. See our Cookie Policy.
• Messages you send us by email, chat or the contact form.

• to run the checks you pay for, show you the report and keep it in My Reports;
• to take payments, issue refunds and keep the accounting records the law requires;
• to answer your questions and complaints;
• to prevent fraud and misuse, and keep the site secure;
• to understand which pages and adverts work, so we can improve the site;
• to comply with the law and with valid requests from authorities.

We use your data on the basis of your consent, given when you sign in and agree before paying, and for the legitimate uses the law allows (such as keeping accounts and preventing fraud). You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us; this stops future processing but does not undo reports already delivered.

A report is built from information that is already public: court records published under law, public web pages and news, and public social media profiles; and, for licence and vehicle checks, the government transport databases. We do not contact the person and never tell them who ran a check. The person can ask us to correct or remove what we hold about them; see Grievance Redressal.

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with these service providers, for these jobs:

• Razorpay: takes your payment and processes refunds
• Google Firebase / Google Cloud: sign-in, and storage of your account, orders and reports
• Vercel: hosts the website
• eCourts India data service: searches court records (name, father's or husband's name, city)
• Perplexity: searches public web pages, news and social profiles (name, relative's name, city)
• OpenAI: summarises the text of court cases that were found
• IDfy: looks up driving licence and vehicle registration records
• Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity: show how visitors use the site; report contents are masked in recordings
• Tawk.to: the chat window, if you use it

Some of these providers store data on servers outside India. They may use the data only to provide their service to us. We may also disclose data when the law requires it, for example to a court or the police with a valid order.

• Your account and reports: while your account is open. Deleted within 30 days after you ask us.
• Orders and payment records: up to 8 years, because tax and accounting laws require it.
• Security logs: 180 days.
• Support messages: up to 2 years after the conversation ends.

Email info@fraudcheck.ai to:

• get a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we shared it with;
• correct or complete it;
• delete your account and reports;
• withdraw your consent;
• nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or cannot act yourself.

We reply within 1 business day and complete requests within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, contact our Grievance Officer, and after that the Data Protection Board of India.

Data travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and is stored with our cloud providers, which encrypt it at rest. Only people who need it to run the service can access it. Session recordings mask report contents and form fields. If a breach affects you, we will tell you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.

The site is for adults. We do not knowingly create accounts for anyone under 18, and our Terms do not allow checks on children.

If we change this policy we update the date at the top of this page, and tell you by email for major changes.
